I have no idea to the first quesion, though I would say at least 1/2 the cost fo new vortec heads......

As for improvement, you will see a pretty big gain. However, before waisting money on heads, you need to decide what exactly you want to do with it first. Make sure about the decision, otherwise, you might just find yourself buying yet another set of headers, and that sucks.

Larry, that is the first thing I want to do. Past experience has proven start with the basics and work from there. I really need some help with the headers and exhaust vendors. A complete exhaust system is what I am looking for and see what header vendors are recommended. I don't have an interest is the cheapest parts, you get what you pay for...within reason. Any suggestions from the forum will be greatly appreciated.

Personally I have always liked the fit and quality of Hooker headers. I would suggest a set of those with some good copper gaskets and then drop the car off at a reputable exhaust shop. Let them finish the system off with a true dual, 2.5" system, with a pair of Magna Flow mufflers.

I have gone back and forth between Magnas and Flows and always have found Magnas to be more appealing to my tastes.
