Default 79 L82 still cutting out what next?

So far I have replaced cap, rotor, coil, module, plugs, wires, fuel pump, filter and fuel line. Car runs better but when I am driving and step on it going up hill it cuts out like it is stalling. I let off the gas and it runs normal again, Idles high in park at about 1500. Last night I had it in park it was idling at 900 I pumped the gas peddle real fast and all of a sudden the idle jump to 1500 and it started to run rough. What next?

Sounds like time to rebuild the carb. The Q-jet may look complicated but if you take your time, you'll find out that it is really not too difficult. Get yourself a empty coffee can with lid and soak parts overnight using lots of cheap carb cleaner. Carefully reassemble the next day and you should be fine. Pay extra attention to setting the float level.

100% but make sure you blow through EVERY hole in the carb both ways with filtered 120psi air

I had a feeling that was next. I have an Edlebrock performance carb I can put on it but I'm not sure if will fit my manifold. The manifold on the car is an Edlebrock. Is that the stock manifold for a 79 L82? Will the carb I have fit a stock manifold? or should I just rebuild the Qjet.

Well if that's the case, then I guess you just HAVE to swap out to a 2.5" dual system. Oh darn.

I think you will find that the Edelbrock carb is square-bore, not spread-bore as you need.
