Default 74 A/C QUESTION what to do.

Compressor has a small leak also a hose is leaking.
time for a upgrade.

Do they make a kit for this or should I buy parts seperatly. Or should I just have the compressor rebuilt?

AC hoses are available at Ecklers, corvette america, all the big suppliers. Compressors are availablt at most parts places. You will need a new drier also. If your concidering going to R134A the system will need to be flushed to get all the old oil out and a new paralell flow condensor will be a good idea.

Just as a side note, I would stay away from Ecklers, particularly when dealing with a/c parts. I ordered a hose from them last year which turned out to be wrong and then they tried to pass of an evaporator as a new Delco part when after research it turned out to be a reman. unit. I finally got the hose from Corvette Central. Frankly, I think Ecklers has gone to pot over the past few years. Expensive and low quality in general.

I would stay away from rebuilt compressors. Those front seals are pesky leakers on A6s and you will no doubt be pulling it back off in no time.

You can get a new A6 from www.ackits.com for $360.

If you do decide to buy a rebuilt, I would at least get a AC delco reman.
