Q-Jet jets are available from Edelbrock. You local NAPA store or independent auto parts store should be able to get them for you. If not, you can get them from Summit. Here are the Edelbrock part numbers and available sizes:
.068” #1968 .072” #1972 .076” #1976
.069” #1969 .073” #1973 .077” #1977
.070” #1970 .074” #1974
.071” #1971 .075” #1975
They cost about $9/pair.
thanks for the pointer lars, i might need it if i ever get this car on the road :jester

I went into the local speed shop, and asked about the demons, the fella there was one of the local drag racers who has a pretty mean nova on the squeeze. I think he owns the place. Any way i ask him about the road demon carbeurators, and the fella says "we dont carry them most drag racers who use them come in and buy these AED carbs" (never heard of em)... then said that they were less expensive than the demons (445.00) Yeah the king demons
Now why would they not carry these? I took it as they didnt want my buisness much. I guess if i get into NOS i'll look elsewhere for a refill
Thanks guys

With the help of "blkblt" from the C1/C2 Forum for the photos, and one of our Forum members for the donated carb, here is how to put the choke linkage back together on your Q-Jet:
1. Here is your mystery piece correctly installed on the carb with the rest of the choke assembly removed. The lever locks out the secondaries - note how it is engaged with the pin on the secondary throttle shaft in this photo:

2. The choke assembly correctly assembled and ready for installation to the carb. The green shaft coming out of the choke has two flat spots on it. Note correct relationships between the counterweight/fast idle cam and the choke housing. Also note that the black cover plate on the choke has been removed:

3. Before proceding, open the throttle all the way. With the throttle open, the fast idle lever on the choke side of the carb will be out of the way for installation of the choke assembly. Now, insert the rod into the little lever and let it hang. Lower it into the slot in the top of the carb:

4. Drop it down until the hole in the lever with the flat sides aligns with the hole in the side of the carb:

5. Making sure that the secondary lockout lever is in the correct position, and making sure that the little nylon vacuum transfer tube is installed in the hole/passage between the carb body and the choke assembly, simply push the entire choke assembly into position. As the green, flat-sided shaft hits the flat-sided hole in the lever, slowly lower the choke rod, and the lever will rotate on the shaft and engage with the flat-sided shaft. The choke will then pop all the way in as shown:
Once in place, it will retain the lockout lever. Install the screw that holds the choke assembly in place, and install the choke cover.
