Default idle speed

Is there a simple way yto reduce my idle spped.
At lights my ycar is revving 800 RPM and wants to go.
How do I slow it down?
PLease let me know Thanks

Its driving me nuts

You adjust the idle screw on the carb, it will be on the driver's side of the carb below where the throttle cable connects. Also make sure the return spring is in good working order and not broken. This is assuming the choke is working and not contributing to the issue.

Its driving me nuts

Take the air cleaner off. On the driver's side of the carb, under the front of the linkages, is a screw. It adjusts the position of the throttle. Tightening it moves the throttle open and loosening it will lower the throttle and idle.
