My daughter followed me into the driveway last night and informed me that my left brakelight was out. The turn signal works, so I know that the bulb is good and the other brakelight works, but the left does not. Before I spend the time trying to troubleshoot - I thought that some of you would have some suggestions. Any help is appreciated. :flag
Are you positive about that? I thought that the brake/turn-signal were on one filament and the parking was on the other
Don,
You may want to check the ground which should be on the driver's rear end of the car. Also, make sure that your harness isn't coming into contact with the muffler (like mine was  ).
CSM and Jerry -- I could have it a**backwards. Stranger things have happened. :) Just the same, it's a two filament lamp and that's the first place I would look.
Gary, I just went through the same thing. Checked grounding..checked bulb.....Ended up replacing the socket itself ($4 at Autozone) and it FINALLY cured my problem! May want to try that if everything else fails.
Mike
I always post this pic for brake/taillight problems. Check and make sure you have a good tight connection. This plug connection is mounted to the steering column under the dash. These are all your brake, tail, flasher wires coming from the switch(s).
