Default RTV Removal
Whats the best way to remove the old RTV sealant on valve covers without causing any damage?

Acetone is a pretty good solvent for RTV. Though you should be able to peel most of it off pretty easy.

A putty knife and a scotch brite pad work good, especially when the scotch brite pad"s on the end of a die grinder !

Lacquer thinner will soften it pretty quick.

I used a spray can of gasket remover and a putty knife, it did the job quite easily.
