I think all of them will do it. Mine was bypassed when I bought it,the reason is that in south fla they don't need a heater. My car came from Tampa/clear water.Sometimes in Savannah it will get cold enough to want some heat. Thats only about 5 or 6 days during our brief winter. I did redo it so I have heat. I just knew the po did it because of a bad heater core, but it was not the case. Somebody will chime in and tell you what the easest of them do to.
I installed a Pipe to An fitting on the water pump and manifold and then installed the caps for the AN. If i remember correctly the manifold is a 3/8" pipe and the water pump is a 1/2" pipe. So I used a 3/8" pipe to 6 AN on the manifold and a 1/2" pipe to 6 AN on the water pump. The fittings and caps are cheap. It is a quick fix until you have the time to tear out that old core. When I did replace my core I cut off the tube ends and brazed on some 5/8" to 1/2" and 3/4" to 1/2" pipe copper adapters. The I installed the AN fittings into the copper adapters and ran braided hose for my heater lines.
In a C2 (non-A/C) there is a constant flow of coolant through the heater core. With a coupe like mine the interior can get very hot. I installed a ball valve to cut the flow or with a flick of the handle, get heat when needed.
This fitting can most likely be purchased at Home Depot or Rona.
If interested, I will be doing Romeo's heater core in about a month, if you'd like you can drop by and do yours at the same time. May get a better deal at a recore, which in my opinion is the best repair.

Damn that sucks!! I replaced mine when I pulled the motor only I did not have to deal with the AC stuff on mine. Keep us posted on what you wind up doing.
Can I coneect the hoses together with a coupler that's 5/8 on one end and 3/4 on the other?

If you have an A/C car and want to maintain an original looking engine bay, do this to both heater hose ends where they connect to the core under the car. (A/C car of coarse). Tuck them up and fasten the connection to something under there. It will look original under the hood! I did this to my 72 sometime back using brass fittings.

You realize of course that when you sell your car that the next owner is going to want heat. He will undo your "fix", have the heater core leak on the carpet, and come screaming to the forum about what Bubba did.
I've been reading all the answers to your problem, and would ask the same guys that if I tie off the heater hoses, and use the thumb control at the "vent" position, will I then get cold air coming in from the vents? right now when I do that, all I'm getting inside is hot air, and where I live, I don't need a heater. I also don't know how to check the vacuum pot at the right side kick panel to see if it's working right or not. I don't have any vacuum leaks, so I'd sure like to see some responses at your conveniences!!!
