So, I was helping my parents move today and my mom tells me about a friend with a corvette for sale. I went to look at it. It is a 72 coupe, 454, auto, 59000 miles, supposed to be all original. Has the original paint job (light green) looks pretty good, nice shine, a few chips on the rear.I got under it and the frame looks really good. Pulled the kick panels, some surface rust, looks good. Hadn't been started in months, jumped it and it fired right up. All the gauges work. Clock works. A/C works. Drove pretty good.
The bad stuff, Seats are split in a few places. Lights won't come up. Rear spring ain't holding her up very well. Tires are dry rotted. Needs a new battery.
What else should I be looking for? What is a good price for this car? She is asking 8K.
It is 1 am I can't sleep - I am thinking: "I should have written her a check". What do you think?
Just remember, "all original" probably means everything needs to be replaced or rebuilt on a 35 year old car. But if you are looking for a project and it is in fact numbers matching, that sounds like a great price.
