Default Electrical (lights)

Was driving the car and all of a sudden the park brake light comes on and the turn signal fuse blows. So I figure it's grounding itself somewhere. Any Ideas? Behind the Tach maybe?

I am ready to tackle this problem but I notice another problem;the taillights. If I step on the brake the right side does not light up. I checked the bulb, it's good. If I put the lights on, the taillights light up right and left, however when I step on the brake, only the left side gets brighter. I switched the bulbs around and I get the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In my car, the parking brake light has a dual function. It also indicates when the headlights aren't fully in the up and locked position. Maybe that time when the park brake light came on is when you hit a dip or something that made the headlights press on the limit switch which caused the dash light to come on. You might want to check out the wiring in the headlight area.

Wait a minute - maybe I'm thinking of the seat belt light. The brake light comes on when there is a problem with the brakes. Are your brakes OK?

Oh...never mind...

Take a look at the wiring harness that runs next to the clutch linkage under the dash. I chased gremlins that were causing my brake light fuse to blow only to find that the clutch linkage had chafed through the wire bundle causing problems with several wires. Everything worked after the fuse was changed, only to blow again as soon as I pushed in the clutch.
