Default Part Identification

This metal plate fell out of the engine compartment of my '80 the other day. Based on it's look and the wear on the curved portion, I'm guessing it for protecting something against the belts.

I rebuilt the engine years ago and don't recall seeing this thing, nor can I find the likely place that it fell off of due to the small tack weld that held it in place.

Many thanks.

Looks like part of a engine cooling fan blade to me.

My 81 has a belt guard on it just above the power steering pump, and that resembles part of it.

It looks an awful lot like a piece of the alternator belt anti-slap shield. I have one on my 78, it's on the bracket from the water pump to the top of the alt.
