Default Update on engine build [pics]

I finally have the rotating assembly put together and the heads bolted on. I just finished painting it and installing the freeze plugs. The two at the rear of the engine were real fun with the engine on the stand.

Oh, and the last picture is my helper (one of my daughters).

I have to put the cam in next and then measure for the pushrod length.

You had better enjoy her while she is young! They tend to cause gray hair later.

Nice paint job.

The manifold is a Weiand Stealth and the Heads are 64cc World Product Sportsman II with oversized valves.

The rest of the specs are:

385ci with Ohio Crankshaft cast crank
Speed Pro dished pistons (approx. 9.25:1 CR)
Crane Powermax 272 cam
Holley 770 SA carb

Nice paint job.
The gray hair has already started. She was helping me last night and kept asking if we were going to be able to drive it last night. I guess that's all the motivation I need to get this thing going. It will have to wait another week though because of vacation.

That intake is just on there for the picture, right? Can't imagine how you'd get the lifters in after you install the cam.
That paint looks great!

And adorable daughter you've got there!!!

Yep, just for the picture. I just held it on with 2 bolts because I painted it all put together.

As for the daughter, I am lucky because I also have another one that looks just like her...her twin sister.

This is my little girl when she was about 6 years old. She could go to the races and tell people all about how different things on the dragster worked.
