my car has stuff from these companys -

Q - jet carb
Holley intake
Lunati cams
hedman hedders
lonco - high performance clylinder heads
summit(not sure what?)


these items are on my 78 vette(L42) - what kind of power would it produce approx?

The serious answer is that we don't have enought info about your particular setup to ever guess. The non-serious answer is that if you've got the stickers installed, they're worth another 25 HP.

Q-jet, almost guaranteed 750CFM
Holley intake. Can you get any name or numbers off it?
Summit could be anything but perhaps it was for the lifters, push rods ect.

Sounds like someone certainly wanted more from the L-48 and put some $$$ into it.

Where did you get this info from?

1978 L48 = 185HP

Q - jet carb = 0 HP
Holley intake = + 10HP
Lunati cams = + 20HP
hedman hedders = +15HP
lonco - high performance clylinder heads = - 50HP

there's a bunch of stickers on the hood! lol, i can see its got the q- jet carb, i can see the hedman headers, its got a nice sliver looking intake, but the cams and clyinder head, how can u tell??

best thing to do is get it on some rollers and find out!

I agree with MOTORHEAD....a rough thought is that better breathing will increase hp as will better exhaust. The intake manifold and exhaust headers "roughly" increase hp MAYBE 30 on a good day. Depending on the other variables...cam etc. I like the example about the stickers!!!!
