Hey fellas.
I want to use braided fuel lines on my vette. I purhcased a high performance fuel pump, and it has threaded holes for the fuel lines leading into and out of it. Now, I do not know how the threaded fuel lines are sized. Can anyone tell me about this or refer me to a website that explains it? Braided fuel lines look nice especially with the fittings.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I would say that the threads in your fuel pump are National Pipe Thread,(NPT) they are in # 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. # 2 being 1/8, #4 = 1/4" , # 6 = 3/8", #8 = 1/2" , # 10 = 5/8". Braided steel lines are often used in hydraulics, high pressure, and there are several fitting type used in this application, but the most common hose fitting is JIC and are rated by #'s same as above, 2, 4, 6, etc. You can get fittings to adapt your npt, for the fuel pump to JIC, for your fuel lines. There are other types of fittings, but these are the most common. (Parker fittings is a good site)
