Default Door lock stuck

Hi, I just recently installed a new door lock actuator and power window motor. Now I can open the drivers side door, the lock seems to be stuck, I cant unlock it from the outside or using the power locks. The lock **** appears to be stuck about 1/2 way and i cant pull it out or even push it in. Of course the door is shut so I cant really get to the inside of the door. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

There are two ways, and one is easier. I'll send you an email when I get to work in a few minutes and touch on what you can also try here too. We'll get it open for you.

Alright looks like its the lock latch spring, thats on the latch mechanism, its not leting the latch (where the lock rod is hooked to) go all the way up. Any one know if i have to pull the whole latch mechanism out to replace this spring?

Yes you do, and in fact it's a good idea to replace the whole mechanism anyway. There are several of these threads a month. The latch goes out and the door won't open. I replaced both of mine when doors failed within a month of each other.

Don't buy the cheap crap, get the good $80 units from the vendors. It's a rough process to change them out so my best advice is go slow, be patient, and play relaxing music in the background.

Yea i kinda thought that would happen. I think theres somthing wrong with this door, the latch was just replace about 3 months before i bought the car, and i've only had it for about 4 months, and used it for maybe a months worth of time. Everything was still lubed from the white lithum that was used on the instal.

i just replaced my driverside this summer and it takes time. Also pay attention to how everything is hooked up... i had to take mine out a few times till i got it correct. Its a lot easier if you have small hands
