Default Rear End Gear Question...ANS NEEDED QUICK!!!!

Ok, I have a 1980'ish rear end and have it all apart. I have 2.96 gears in it now, but would like to go a little bigger. Will this fit? If not, what do I need to be looking for. Only 3 hours left. Thanks.

I don't know that I would use a set of gears from a Jeep. I'm currently doing new gears in my 80, going from 2.86 to 3.70. Bought mine from here:

Is your vette an automatic? You're going to lose some of your top end going up to 3.70, you'll be at 5,000 RPM's at 60 Mph. I'm doing a 700R4 transmission in mine - that combination lets you gain the benefits of those gears without having to work the motor so hard on the interstate.

If yours is a manual you might be OK - you're still going to lose some of the top end, but it won't be as bad with a 4 speed manual as it would be with a 3 speed auto.

I'm currently mocking up an LS1 T56 combo drivetrain.

A three speed automatic and a 4 speed are 1to1 final ratio. A 373 with stock tires will run 107 @ 5000 RPM
