Had a 700 low gears felt like I was at a monster truck pull, got a 2004r out a piece o shot, loved it,blew it up. Bought one from Bow Tie over drive, stage 3, beaten the pass out of it and its holden up better than the rest of the toy. Drop her in reverese to about 10 mph and hit drive its held to over 2 years of rejuvinating my child hood.

I have a mild cam in my 74 which is the best tourque converter to run with the 200R4? Thanks to the forum again for all the help houstonvett
Well, my idle is 800 rpm or so, and as such the tight converter I have in it is really a bit too tight, wish I got one looser, but not tearing things up again just for that reason alone...plus 100 bux exchange...
so what the called a 'vette' converter, I have to assume 1800-2k rpm listed stall.....
I think the one I have is something like 1400 or less listed stall....
the tug on the brakes is a bit much....having a TPI which keeps the idle at 800 or whatever, is a tough thing to hold back....

I asked that question & this is the reply I got from BTO: "If the motor idles 600 to 700 2200... if it idles 700 to 800 2400.... or 800 to 1100 you may want a 2600 to 2800 stall... "
