Wiper Door Re-engineering.....
Anyone ever try to redesign how the wiper door is opened/closed?
I was thinking that it shouldn't be all that difficult to engineer something mechanical rather than the vacuum method. Maybe use a 12 volt trigger with something like door release actuators...
The vacuum cannister, and presumably the lines, are missing on the 69, so I got to thinkin'....

IF you have any experience with electrical/tronic design, and mechanical prototype work, it's a natural....all you need is a linear actuator....ask Chris, 69myway, he got me one, and I did my own relay logic assy to controll it....but being an old ET someday I may well sit down and draw up a few logic gates and some solid state switches to controll all this mess.....as it is now, it's a kludge on the firewall with wires nearly everywhere.....what I need to use is motor current as the limit, instead of burglar alarm magnet switches for up and down limits...
That right there eliminates about 1/2 the wires....much less 3 relays glued together, painted black, and a brazillion interconnect wires....
it's really not hard, just need think the problem through....too boot I have adjustable intermittant wipers along with that door....
then again, I"m age 63, so I have some time to phardt around....
kinda like other projects....
