Nice avatar. Your girl?

Actually a clutch fan is a thermal fan. It's either a clutch fan or a clutchless flex fan. Clutch is almost always better.

I have a DeWitts aluminum radiator. In my opinion, after getting it, it's just about the best available. I have serpentine so I have a reverse rotation fan from a Jeep Cherokee.

I have an auto transmission but I got a manual transmission radiator and have the lines routed in front of the radiator to a transmission cooler with a thermostat controlled fan.

Sealing around the core support is very important as it keep air from going around the radiator instead of through it.

I will post pics later tonight.

I have the stock 3 core radiator with Spal electric fans. Best combo I have had on any car.

Dewitt's Direct Fit Aluminum 2-row radiator; 180* thermostat; stock clutch fan & fan shroud. Keeps the 350 between 180-200 (with the A/C on) on these hot hot days.

Dewitts, Dual Spals with independant controllers, sealing foam in gaps and a flex fan to blow a little air across the block. My 469 big block is running no more than 190 on 100 degree days.

Execuse me for the OT question, I've noticed that you have a CS144 alt. with a BB and PS, how did you manage to get it fit? I have the same engine setup and really dont know whats the best way to modify the bracket!

76L-81 core support with a Griffin radiator from DeWitts. Dual C4 fans; 1 controlled by the ECM (TPI fuel injection), the other controlled by a temp switch in the head. Stock auto trans cooler lines. Never overheats or even gets close.

I have one of the best cooling systems. When you have a modified nose on your Vette. The cooling rules change.

The problem with Vettes is that the motor is higher than the radiator fill point - So you can never really get the motor completely filled.

I added two 3/8th inch lines from the back of the Motown intake manifold today. Normally you see guys plumbing these to the front intake runners below the thermistat housing. I just went for the straight shot. Right on out to the radiator intake hose. I could not get my water temp much over 190 even on this near 100 degree day driving at high speed for 12-20 miles on a freeway.

I should add only one of my two Spal fans was running

The higher Morosso filler cap going to the overflow bottle and new non opening radiator cap with twin rear lines works!

I'm actually going to try a bigger pump pulley to get more heat in the motor.

Stock BB brackets...power steering pump has two pulleys...one for alternator belt and one for power steering...important to have correct pulley on alternator...

In this old pic,you can see 3/16" mis-alignment of rear (P/S) belt..I corrected that with pulley in first picture...

I can get more pics if needed..tell me what you need....BTW: I bought brackets at ZIP...

In this next pic you can see damaged powering steering bracket..the ear is broke off...and the Alt bracket cracked due to wrong pulley on alternator by previous owner......all due to mis-alignment of the power steering belt...

Since I will eventually install my LTI topped 405 I will probably have to worry with an overheating issue. Seems 400s just came with that problem when their performance was warmed up.

My LT1 manifold has two heater hose nipples at the back on each side. I was thinking of running them either forward or backward to a remote fluid cooler and a thermostat controlled fan.

My thinking is that fluid will flow through them constantly. In the summer this is fine because my motor reaches operation temp within five minutes. I don't really drive in winter so I don't need to worry much with not having a thermostat controlling flow through heat transfer devices.

I will put a small sensor in the aux cooler, which will activate a small fan if the water temp reaches 200.

Anyone see any problems with this plan?

On my 79 L82 with a mildly modded 355, I'm using a rather new GM 4core rad with OEM fan clutch, tranny lines (+aux tranny cooler), rad gaskets...pretty much stock except with a 2004R tranny. No cooling issues.
