Default Dual Disc Clutch

Anyone out there familiar with the dual disc clutch that was available from GM in the 60's and 70's? I bought one for my '73 back in '74, when I upgraded to an LS-7 big block. I've been using it ever since. Great clutch! Low pedal effort, and terrific clamping power.
I'm in the process of putting in a ZZ454. The discs LOOK relatively O.K., but if I can get two new replacement discs, I would use them. They are 10" discs. The GM part # was 3993815. 10 inch with a 26 tooth spline. That part # has been discontinued. Anyone with any leads on where I might be able to get some replacement discs? I have tried the aftermarket vendors, and they either don't know anything about the clutch, or if they do, they don't make a disc that will fit. Thanks for any info!

Have you tried talking to a truck driveline clutch/driveshaft type place about getting them relined? I suspect you will need someone like that to recondition those original parts. Those disks will be very expensive even if you can find them in NOS condition. I would keep using the ones you have if they are still serviceable.

any clutch maker can get you a 10 inch disc with the 26 spline just check thickness of the disc.

Yes, I am familiar with them. I've had 3 new old stock clutch assemblies, and you are right they are a really neat unit. Gib Hufstader was one of Zora's right hand men, he designed and invented it. Those clutches are standard equipment on the '71 LS6 Corvettes with manual transmissions. I will, when the time comes have my discs refaced, as I know of nowhere to get them.

I have a 1971 LS6 with the dual disc clutch. I was offered 1,200.00 for it 10 years ago who knows what its worth today? I just got the discs re-lined and plate re-surfaced. Awesome clutch for the power of the LS6.
