A/C Problem

I am having problems with my controls on my 81 vette. I replaced the fuse which was blown and the blower motor started working, but as soon as I switched to a/c the fuse blew again. Does anyone have any sugestions on where to start trying to fix this?

Disconnect the connector from the speed control resistors on the evaporator box, passenger side under the hood and check it again.
Here is a schematic

I took the car to the place I bought it from for another issue and had them look at the A/C problem. It turned out that one of the connections to the compressor was not fully connected. I like those kind of repairs. Thanks for the info.
