Default edelbrock 650

hey everybody.I wonder could someone tell me why my edelbrock 650 carb maybe using so much fuel. I bought it used from ebay. can i change the jets or needles or something for better fuel economy? thanks for any feedback.

It could be misadjusted...it could have the wrong jetting, the choke could be set wrong. It could have had things changed prior to your buying it.

Carburetor jetting has to be matched to your cam profile, otherwise it could run too rich, too lean, etc.

They generally come out of the box in the ballpark on jetting for an engine making < 1 HP/CID at the flywheel. If the fuel use is stupid high then I start looking at fuel pressure (should be ~6 PSI) or a needle/seat problem. Also, check the choke to make sure it's fully opening.
