Al knoch carpets are very good. I just did mine in my 77 and was not to bad of a job.... The bigest PITA was the area behind the seats,
IF you have any problems someone on here can help....Good luck...
thx for the reply, my carpet is al knoch and so is the pad. when i took it out of the box and layed it out all the shapes of the cut didn't look right.lol but i'll get her done thx all
most of the pieces should fit right in and are premolded... the only problems that I have found are the two pieces that are over the rear wheel hubs.... they have to be trimmed and cut a bit to fit into the spaces just right... very frustrating for sure! Just remember, the back sides go down and then the back cargo area, front driver and passenger sides are next and then the area behind the seats... cut and trim around the battery/ cargo holds and then reinstall the framing and doors... then the seats go back in. While you are at it... might as well install extra/ more insulation...go to lowes or home depot and get two rolls of "frost king" and some 3M adhesive 90. cut and mold and glue into every crack and crevace and then glue in the carpet... it will cut down on road noise and heat inside the cabin! Well worth the time and effort.

I really didnt have to glue much.. The only thing i really glued was the area behind the seats..seems like everything else is held in by something that gets screwed in...and my amp held the back area in.But I guess its to each his own on how they want to install... I didnt want to glue Just in case i wanted to maybe add something to the stereo...
Either way you do it is ok i guess.
I appriciate the information it is very helpfull,i do have one question ,that is ,the placement of the pad ,do i glue it to the carpet backing ,or to the body,or both?,,and how do i know exactly where it goes. the old carpet had the pading glued to the back. i am ready ,but not that ready to do this ,,a bit unsure.....
I actually would cut and dry fit every insulation piece and then spray the glue onto the body then place the insulation down while molding it into place. Then glue the carpet over the top of the insulation...
Also, a heat gun is very helpful in getting the carpet to fit better. Heat the back side and work it into place. Time consuming process, but it turns out looking great
Another trick is the bolt holes for say- the seat tracks-. I use an awl to punch a hole from underneath the car. Then from inside the car use a pencil tipped soldering iron to open up the hole. Sure makes the bolting in a lot easier-but the burnt carpet on the iron stinks!!!
If you add insulation material-oft times the original bolts just won’t start. Use some longer ones –tighten down- a couple days later you’ll be able to start the original ones –if inclined to do that. I usually use stainless steel bolts so they come out easier next time w/o the rust.
