Looking for an engine builder in S. Florida
Does anyone have any reccomendations for a good machine shop. I live in Delray Beach and need someone to go through my short block it has a knock.

They are the best I know of around here. Good equipment, used properly and very prompt. 1 week for 30 over bore, cam bearings, valve guides and seats, but no assembly. Your time may vary. Price probably still in line with your old one.
BTW, they do lots of SBC race motors too.
Myself and people I know only have the machining done there, but I know they assemble too. They also have a car dyno.
One hint, after boiling, don't let them paint the block with the cast paint, just oil spray it.
Here is a cylinder they did with 15000 miles on it.

This will probably be to late for you,but there is an excellent engine builder in Ft Lauderdale, goes by the nickname of "Fig"no joke.I used to live there in my other life but he is very good.I do not have his phone number but if you call Fabulous Restorations in Ft Laudrdale,711 NW 11th street,828 1454 and ask for George,owner and he can give you "Figs"number and if you do tell him I sent you.Later Geno

i used bob's speed products in ft laud. the guys been racing for 50 years! he's on nw 6 ave. i primed the oil pump, set the distributor, pumped the gas, cranked for about 5 seconds and wrooom! good prices too!
