tranmission fluid leak
i brought my 81 to a tranmission shop to see what it was and he said it some seal on the front of the trans and it would have to be removed to fix and he quoted me 325$ to do it. is this reasonable or should i go somewhere else or do it myself thanks

with cost of living increase, that sounds about right. the only gotcha might be if the torque converter is damaged at the seal. otherwise, if you do this, have all of the gaskets and o-rings replaced including both the front seal and gasket
