G-Tech image

Like 'em or not, I think the G-Tech is going to be a useful tool to see if I am making improvements. (it beats guessing!) Today UPS delivered my new timing light so I hope to get my "Lars recurve kit" installed within a few days. Hopefully I will be able to create an updated image of my G-Tech showing better 0-60 times!

And you´re still not satisfied
If the G-tech reading is correct, you´ve a fast,... a very fast corvette, indeed
I even read a post in the Z06 forum where a guy had pulled a 3.85 sec 0-60. I know I can't touch that with my current setup, not even if I were to install 3.73 gears.
Is my G-Tech "correct"? I can't say for sure but it seems to be consistent. I can pull 4.95 to 5.05 sec 0-60s pretty much every time I try. The consistency alone should help me see improvements or losses.

I don't live near a drag strip. The closest one is an 1/8th mile track (Kennedale, TX). I bet my times would stink with the 3.08s. I would like to have it run from mid to high 12s to no worse than low to mid 13s in the 1/4 mile. I'll try to get a G-Tech 1/4 run after I get the timing setup done. I'm still running the old Q-jet just as it came off of the worn out L-48. I will work on the carb after I get the timing set.
Yes, I have a lock-up torque converter. It receives its lockup signal from line pressure. No electric stuff involved. It unlocks itself when moderate pressure is applied to the throttle. (3rd and 4th)
Still not satisfied with my shift points or shift firmness though. A computer controlled 480LE would be COOL. You can dial in exactly where you want the shift points. Big $$$ though.
My setup is all pretty much budget stuff. $1000 for pre-assembled 383 short block and $850 for the Trick Flow heads. All in all, I have spent $5000 on it since July. That includes engine swap, 700R4 conversion, front suspension rebuild (poly) new tires and all the other misc stuff that goes with this type of project. I have the best of nothing but so far it's working.
I want my car to be a reliable daily driver that runs strong. Good 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are just icing on the cake. I'm just trying to find a decent balance between utility and sport.

The next time that you have you pan off to change the filter it's also worth investing in a 1/2 inch line lockup seleniod. Because you want instant lockup to save the TC clutch
