Default no center bezel lights

i have a 1977 l-48. the speedo and tach lights work, however, none of the center bezel lights (i.e. temp, gas, voltage) work. also, i'm not sure if it's supposed to, but the shift selector light on the console doesn't work either. any solutions? thanks. dabrogger@hotmail.com

Probably the connector on the back of the cluster. The contacts are fairly fragile.

It's probably a grounding problem. Without disassembling anything, get a piece of wire (about 2-3 feet long). Strip the insulation from the ends. Turn on parking lights. Touch one end of wire to a known good ground area (or where a black wire terminates). Touch the other end to any chrome metal area on the gage cluster. Did your lights and gages start working? If so, rig up a permanent ground line to the gage bezel...the one it had no longer works.
