what is this little relay looking box, the silver one just to the right of my hood latch. what does it control?

It might be the hi blow relay for the blower motor??

Yep, thats what it is. It bypasses the rest of the electrical system in an effort to get full alternator output voltage to the blower when the switch is on high

thankyou very much mad mickey and six foot. im in the process of getting rid of everyhting unnecessary out of my engine bay . putting the new motor in there in the next few days. here is a pic of it so far almost finished.

just my standard 81 hood dannyman. i have a 3 inch recessed air cleaner. extreme flow and it fits by just under half an inch. i didnt really want anything protruding through my hood.is that what you mean?

Just curious what hood you had and available clearance to top of breather, as I'm not a fan of modifying the hood either.
