Default Serp Setup ??'s

OK, so I am putting together my salvaged serp setupand have run into a snag (big surprise). The setup I got was off an 89 suburban, I just went and got a new waterpump for 89 suburban, and there is no heater hose port...WTF? Did I get the wrong pump? What pump should I look for? Anly thing I am sure of it should be a rev flow...

TIA

6' my setup is from an '88 vette, essentially, with Breathless airpump eliminator kit....about 12 years now....no sweat, runs fine...
fits easy since no air pump, I drilled holes in the Breathless support rod to swing the alt inboard, and then use a shorter belt....

only thing you gotta watch of course is that you have all three mounting bolt holes on the front of both heads....a la 113 aluminum heads....

IMO, trying to adapt stuff from another car is not worth the time/effort...it MAY work, but, the C4 vette setup DOES work....

I ran through this a few weeks ago. The pump I eventually found with a port was for a late 80s truck. There are two versions of it, take yours back to the parts store and see if they have another listing for that Burb.

No prob. That was either the fourth or fifth water pump that I bought in three days...I was driving the guys at O'Reilly's nuts. I'm glad I still had the box laying around.

You'll need a shorter heater fitting, I got mine in the "Help!" section at the parts store.

What serp beackets did you use?

I just looked that pump up on the Cardone site and it does not look like it has a heater hose port. Is that maybe a generic pic? It kinda looks like the pump I got. There is a port on top of the pump, is that what you used?

The serpentine brackets I used came out of a Camaro.

That port on top is what I used. Some trucks had a heater port on the radiator, others used a port on the water pump.

Cardone might have used a generic pic. All I know is what came out of the box from O'Reilly's.

Drag, I was sweating that one myself, but no issue on mine. Some guys have had to cut a section out of the top of the crossmember and weld in a patch to make room. Mine cleared with a half inch or so to spare. I got a setup off an 88 vette

Are you using the alt. and power steering pump from the 88 Vette also? Do you have any pics of the setup?

or
GM 88894005

Here are a couple I did the other day, was bragging on my idler pulley
If you need some more I can do them, the thing is complete now with the correct pulley

they don't show a lot, guess I'll do a couple more tomorrow. I am useing the same type alt as the 88, but not the original, I am also running the 88 pump. I converted it to AN connections

OK, I went ahead and did a couple
