Not to be an a$$ or anything, but how do you take the frame off of the body? I thought you took the body off the frame.
Sorry I couldn't help myself.
Personally, I used the 2 million zip loc bags and a sharpie.
I didn't bother to try and keep the wiring harness because it was seriously Bubba-ized under the dash. I also deiced from the beginning that I was going to get rid of the vacuum crap for the headlights and wiper door.
So far I have been replacing all my fasteners with SS where I can because I NEVER NEVER want to deal with rusty fasteners again and the baggies make it really easy to figure out how many of each type I need.
A parts cleaner is really helpful as well. Clean everything thoroughly and you will be surprised at how many parts are either still usable or how many you have to replace

guitar - LOL - this is a good one - but it can be done - put the whole car on jack stands and other wooden supports - these would be on the body only - the whole car is lowered onto these from a gantry to evenly distribute the weight and avoid stress cracking - then you drop the chassis out from under and pull it away - see "Corvette Body-Frame Removal without Stree Cracks" by Russ Hibbeler, page 1 of the NCRS Restoration and Maintenance Encyclopedia - 1968-1972 Chassis Volume
I didn't build this......my dad baught it and I've been the only one that's used it so far! This is a rotessierie with a sub-frame which you'll have to have if you want to rotate a Vette.
I lifted my body off with a two post live. Built a simple steel structure bolted to the lift to give enough height.
James...WOW...that thing is pretty massive - although you didn't build it, would you be able to post more pictures of it? - do you know where your dad got it? - thanks, ed
It is huge. In fact, if you look at the second and first photo you can see we actually had more of the shop's front pad paved so that we could roll it to the side
If you do a search you can probably find a few posts on this rotesserie, but I'll see if I can get the name of the company and take some more pics today or tomorrow.
