Nothing wrong with DeWitt's radiators, at all. I just didn't see the need to go that way...especially when it would cost me double (as a minimum). By the way, the re-core on my radiator was estimated to be around $300 by my mechanic. The bill actually came to $247.50.....hard to beat for a stock 270hp 350, don't you think?
Now the real figure comes out. $248. That's a good deal for sure, and I myself would consider that.
However, the fact still remains it's a refurbished radiator, and there are parts of that radiator that would still be old and worn even after the re-core. Just keep that in mind.
I would hate to see a thread in a year or so where you need a new radiator because the one you had re-cored took a dump and needed to be repaired or replaced.
It was for that reason I stepped up and got the good new one.

No question that is a good price. I would have tried to have my original radiator recored if I could have found a shop to do it. Part of my decision was based on my plan to swap out the stock 200 HP motor for a LS1 and I wanted a radiator that could handle the extra beans of the LS1. I contacted Tom before ordering the radiator and he thought that I would be OK. Since he owns a radiator business and I don't I trust his recommendations.
