Screw tabs on front grille?

Screw tabs on front grille?
On my car the screw tabs above and below the marker lights attach to nothing.
Any proper pictures might help.
These are what holds my grille and lights up on that side of the grill.
I ask this as the 2 lower tabs are cracked and I was going to trim them off if not needed.
I would trim the top ones as well if not used, but I just dont figure out why they are there if not used.
I must be missing parts.

tristan, I don't know if these pics will help, but they are from my early 69 and taken several years ago. There are some small brackets that hold the grille in place, check that you have them.

The tab below your light is not used either.
Out comes the Dremel and off with the tabs.
I will keep the top tab above the light untill someone confirms they do not use it as well, so if you have a picture of just above your light it would help.
