Default SB ignition shielding

For a '71 350/270, I'm trying to fit the right (passenger) side vertical piece. I've got the top okay but how in the world do I attach the bottom? There's a hole but I don't see where to attach any support, and it's way too loose to leave as is. My AIM doesn't show how it comes together and I can't just let it dangle. Any pics from a stock install? My driver's side has a good wing-nut support and I guessing the starboard side should as well. I thought I ordered all the necessary pieces but I may have missed something. I'd much appreciate descriptions/views of proven set-ups.

The pass side vert. attaches to the #6-#8 cover and inside is the vert. is the plug wire loom with a hole for a wingnut.(just like the drivers side only a little diff. wire loom)

You know, I may not have the correct year piece because I'm just not seeing how the bottom attaches. The rigid 4-wire loom is there towards the bottom on the bell housing side, but there's an ear on the lower end of the chrome shielding piece with an oblong hole that extends forward and just misses my headers.

Taking a break then gonna look at it again with a helper to try to make it work. Driver's side? Doesn't look like it. May end up simply leaving it on the workbench. I'm changing engines eventually and this isn't an NCRS thing. Thanks for your help though.

Then you dont have the spark plug covers...correct? Thats where the oblong hole connects...to the spark plug chrome cover.

The lower end of the right side spark plug wire channel is bolted/wing-nut to the threaded lug on the back of the rear-right spark plug cover.

Default suggestions?

Thanks. We'll look into getting the #6-#8 cover. Or maybe try to fabricate something.

7T1vette: in the '71 AIM, page 412,...we're talking about the bolts for part #10, right? They probably disappeared when the headers were installed.

Sorry, Carl... We're in the process of moving and I've already packed my A.I.M. [I realize that's Corvette "blasphemy", but so be it.] I'll just say that the right and left side chrome channels for the plug wires each have a hole for a bolt/wing-nut to attach to the nearest spark plug cover.
