Exterior Windshield Trim

I have a problem with the top exterior windshield trim piece on my 77. It keeps popping up. I've seen the clips for sale but have not seen the trim. Do the clips fit into the adhesive when the windshield is replaced or can I reinstall them now? I've seen some guys who cake a lot of windshield adhesive under the trim leaving a good size gap. This looks real bad and I'm hoping to rectify without having to fill the gap.

I can check my parts car tomorow but I think the clips were riveted to the windsheild frame.

On my 76 they were screwed in but there was no room to get a screwdriver on them unless the windshield was out.Good luck

Thanks for responding guys. I think I will tear into it this winter. Maybe reset the windsheild and do the entire thing. Thanks
