Default Which Plug wires?

I have some over the valve cover wires - #2 wire got burn't real bad before I caught it and wrapped it.

I would like to get wires like the OEM ones that run under the headers.
(i have a sb350cid w/ hooker side pipes)

Anyone have that setup? Do you like it (+/-)? What brand or PN?

Thanks-

Ive got some Moroso Blue Max and havent had any problems, MSD wires are also good but cost a little more $$$$.

Are they routed under the headers along the block like OEM or over the top and coming down between the header pipes?

You may find this link usefull. I used MSD'a universal wire kit and custom cut them to length. Because I dont have vise to use with the 'block' style crimper that comes with the wires I had to buy and expensive Moroso crimper.

Thanks, I saw that one in the archives already. It helped a little. I'm not looking for a AIM install though. Just burn free wire routing without having to install heat sheilds and wrap. I have hooker side pipe headers too.

The bend of the header is so close to the plug boot it melted it to the point its missing on the # 2 cyl.

I though there was a discussion in the past about this and guys said the short accel plug and the premade "such&such" wires routed under the headers were the way to go. I'll keep looking in the archives..

These are MSD 8.5mm superconductors. I had that same wire burn and others get toasty so put em all in a sock.

Cool thanks! I bought a 2 pack of those socks too but I see were I fuged up. I ran my #2 wire behind the #2 header pipe where its tighter. I see you ran yours to the plug from the front.

Guess I ruined that wires set

I'll order something new I guess. I just hate making plug wires...

Wheres my damn Summit catalog ...

I just bought all new plugs with the wires so I don't want to **** that 35bucks away too. I'll pass on those plug for now. I just ordered some premade Moroso ultra 40 wires, should be delivered tomorrow.

I'm going to go with the under header routing. I didn't like how my last set was on top of the covers. It just looked too "busy" and interfered with the nice factory aluminum valve covers and checking the oil.

I have a set up similar to the one above. MSD wires are supposed to be able to handle a lot of heat. My pertronix wires couldn't handle being so close to my Hooker Headers (they were starting to fail). The MSD ones were $80, but I was annoyed that they wanted me to "make" the coil wire. I didn't want to do any more work after finishing my engine swap, so I used my old coil wire and it works just fine.

Well here those wires were on B/O so I cancelled. Thats cool cause I found exactly what I wanted- cheaper and IN STOCK.

I re ordered the MSD #31763. Already made, HEI 8.5 super conductors, in black, under header routing. $80.20 +s/h.

Think I'll get any RFI with these MSD wires? Some low ohm wires are bad for this. I always use Accel or Morosso..

I guess it doesn't really matter, I can't hear the radio over the side pipes when the windows down anyways...

Installed these MSD 8.5 wires last night and they are great!

Way better than the Accel Armor Sheild wires I did have on it before.

The Accel wires had RFI in the stereo (HEI electrical wine) something terrible.

These MSD wires have ZERO radio Noise!

-THANKS FOR THE RECOMMENDATION ALL-
