I would go with the stinger hood from Ecklers, as 79er did. I will be using one on my car sometime next year and think they look good on a C3.

If you want to use one on that hood, I would get a bigger one. One that has the same width as the raised part of the hood, so the sides match as one and it does not have the "stepped" look. It should also go further back, so more length is needed too.

The scoop will work, it just needs to be bigger.

Good luck.

Use it. Clearly looks added on but it is unique. The size and scale is about right for the car and the top curve of the scoope echos the front fender shape. Also the top profile is close to the hood spear shape. I like how you can see the air cleaner from the front and it can be painted and installed without respraying the hood. I have a L88 hood on mine but the side profile, with a large flat sloping top is a design theme not seen anywhere else on the car. These cars need complex curves with few straight lines. To me a C3 looks like the body was shrink wrapped over big tires and a large motor. Any body mod should follow this theme, a "tight" hood scope or rounded flares will look good. An air dam, any skirting or box flares are wrong.

Just the thoughts of a would be auto designer.

Does someone make a 3 inch cowl induction hood for your Vette? I think that would look better.

I was looking at your sig pictures in a previous post and thought to myself how you were going to cover your air cleaner when I saw the pictures of the hole in your hood. I got to the last picture and saw your scoop and thought ............................COOL. I like it but as it has been mentioned before.............do you like it.

Thanks again for all the replies. Alt.,1,6,8 ¿

The 'vert' conversion was done when we bought the vette. They did a great job. Was also supposed to come with a hard top. Judge couldn't get me the top but he got me $$.

The engine sits about 1 1/2" to the passenger side.

scoop Pro: better visibility
fit, paint, and go
I'm sick of getting stuff for this car

Con: Looks kinda unfinished to me
I gotta keep looking for a hood and then probably pay US$$
I do have all winter
I must not be really happy with it cuz I'm still looking

Thought about terry82's comment. How about this poking through the hood as a compliment to the sidepipes.

I am thinking hard about the blower scoop, and I'm sure that with the scoop I'd, of course, want the blower to go with it. :D I'm not sure if I would feel too 'ricey' with it by itself, but it is a thinkable alternative.
