Are you referring to the diverter attached to the AIR smog pump? They're also known as anti-backfire valves. There's also a diverter valve in the vacuum system.
If it's the anti-backfire valve, check with Dr. Rebuild...they list most of them. Places like Corvette Central, Eckler's, etc., list some of them but Doc Rebuild seems to have a more expansive coverage.
If it's the diverter valve in the vacuum system, most any of the suppliers carry them.
I'd be doing a lot more research into other sources for that. What is it about an '81 that makes it so expensive? Can you simply eliminate the smog stuff altogether where you live?
