Default Fuel smell from Carb

I am having a problem with a fuel smell after driving. I’m fairly sure it is the carburetor, but I can’t find were it is leaking. The smell will last for several days. I have had the carb rebuilt, but the problem is still there. All the plugs on the bottom of the carb are epoxy sealed. Anyone have this problem?

Thanks

The '69 carb bowl is vented to atmosphere outside of the the confines of the air cleaner. Depending on the vapor pressure of the fuel in your area, your carb will vent fuel vapors through the forward vent valve, and you wil be able to smell it. Unless the carb is actually leaking, this is normal.

If it is more than you are used to make sure that you aren't running rich. Are your spark plugs fouled? I've also found that by putting a small potato on the gas cap (underneath the door) it makes the car smell less like gas. I had a mechanic tell me this trick right after I drove it to Virginia.
