One thing that I need (due to the divorced choke on my Q-Jet) is manifold heat. A lot of the heads I have looked at don't have that, but the 60909s do.
Hey Don, just a thought here but you may not want to limit your head decision based on the crossover for the divorced choke.
Electric choke conversions are inexpensive and I also see you live in SW TN so the real cold weather shouldn't be a big factor.
I have a ZZ4 which has what are basically L-98 aluminum Corvette heads. There is no crossover and I still run the divorced choke.
I don't mind sitting with the engine while it's warming up for a minute or so.
Beautiful car! Congrats on getting it up and running the way you want!
Thanks!
One word of caution for anyone reading this...
The Weiand intake is just tall enough to make it impossible to get the Rube Goldberg '74 style air cleaner on with enough hood clearance. The GM Performance Parts air cleaner pictured above fits perfectly and looks 100 times better though! It just needs a '72 LT1-style crankcase vent tube and its good to go, or just use one of the press-in cap-style vents.
if it has stock exhaust, get the summit
turbo mufflers SUM630125 $14.75
best bang for the buck!
(the Qjet is 750 cfm, don't worry about it)
Theres a reason there only $14.75!
Until you go Holley you will always be 1 step behind.
A Q-jet has nowhere near the bottom end take off as a Holley.
But some engines aren't up to par enough to deserve a Holley!
