Ignition problem car won't start
My car was running a little rough so I changed the distributor, rotor and points. The distributor was checked re position to the number one cylinder before trying to check the dwell and timing. The car started breifly then stalled out and will not start again. There is no firing out of any of the primary wires. I replaced the new point with the old one replaced the coil and still can get it to start.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

be sure your points are opening and closing all the way. If they are staying open or closed it will not fire the coil. The way I initialy set them is to get the cam on a high lobe, put a feeler guage between the points and tighten them down.

Your 72 does not have a ballist resistor,yours has a resistor wire going to the coil.Make sure you have 12 volts on the positive terminal of the coil with the key in the on position and also while cranking.
