Default Rear Suspension maybe??

Ok I have been fighting with this one for a while and can't figure it out. Every time I get into her hard it feels like the rear end is sliding to the right out from under the car. after the punch it still feels like the alignment is off until I let off the gas then it is back to being straight as an arrow.

Car is a 1980 with the 385 fast burn crate motor , t-350 3-spd, and 4.10 gears in the rear.

Check the trailing arm mounting bushings in the frame. And all other bushings back there as well, but usually the trailing arm bushings are shot.

Any noises?
While the car's jacked up, grab the wheel's at 12 & 6 o'clock and check for movement. If more than 1/2" or so, it could be bad wheel bearings.
Hope not, it's a beetch of a job. But if it is, it's better than a rear rebuild.

Sounds like trailing arm bushings...when mine were bad, on acceleration, the rear went left...when I let off,it went back(right)...or vice versa...can't remember...

Accelerate from cruise speed of 60 mph to 70 and let off...you should be able to feel rear shift if trailing arm bushings are bad....

that can be caused by side yoke play as well...

I had that in my '79 Z28 once, and it happened at the drag-strip..... turned-out the posi was shot:
rebuilt the posi, and it tracked straight-and-true.
