After reading several posts on here I realized I was running the wrong oil in my 80 with a reblt 4000mi 350. I then switched to VR1 20-50 but that seemed a little too thick for a rebuild. Then I switched to 15-40 Rotella. I am running the small sized oil filter from GM that they gave me for my engine. Does it make a difference when running the Rotella oil? Please don't tell me I need to change the filter now!!! Jay
At Napa, they have two Wix filters. There is the one with the Wix name on it and a Napa Gold filter, also made by Wix. Now, the Napa Gold is a few bucks more and is the exact same filter as the lower priced Wix named filter. Just buy it. The Napa Gold is the same filter with the Napa name.
And since you asked about oil, I've desided to use a good standard oil such as Valvoline or GTX 10w30 and add a can of GM break-in oil at each change to ensure I get plenty of zinc and other stuff. I think they are taking the zinc out of the Rotella now. I change every 1000 to 1500 miles anyway.

Some of the forum members say there is still enough zinc in Rotella, even with the cj5 classification. Someone here told me only to use EOS at break-in only. That's why I went with the Rotella. He said it could cause coking, whatever that is. I don't know what to believe anymore!! Jay
