When I switch on my heater or even my vent in my 76 nothing happens. My AC Compressor is on the floor right now (seized up) but that shouldn't have anything to do with it. I have replaced the relay going to the blower motor but that did no good. (I thought that was the problem because I have juice going into the relay but nothing coming out of the relay to the motor) I am trying to track down a wiring diagram for it. Does anyone know where to find one or perhaps where I should be looking for the problem. I am leaning toward the blower motor myself.
You need a good year-specific wiring diagram. The relay has 12v to it for fan high speed. You can check the blower motor by connecting the terminal directly to 12v and see if it works. Is the fuse in the fuse panel good? Could be the fan switch, could be a disconnected wire. You just need to get a diagram and trace it out.
Doc Rebuild has put out some great wiring diagrams recently.
I was at his place a couple of days ago and saw them in person
They are 11"X17" and they are laminated.
These things are very precise and very easy to read.
Worth every bit of $12 each.
I just had the same problem the clips were reading power but no go at the fan It turned out this helpped serch iths forum for a thread thats titeld Wiper motor --just clicks? it will tell you about the gound cable that some times goes bad and will make your blower motor and wiper motor cut out that was my problem hope it helps

Its seems to me that if you have no juice coming out of the relay to the motor, you can't blame the motor. Before you go thru the trouble of replacing the motor, what I would do is make darn sure the motor has a good ground, then run a hot wire to the hot terminal on the motor. If it works, the motor is fine. Are you SURE you have the right relay located? If so then trace that "out" HOT wire that runs from the relay to the motor. I know the haynes shop manuels have wiring diagrams that are a little tough to follow, but better than nothing. Also I know there is a glass fuse in line of the heavy gauge ORANGE colored wire. You minght want to find and check that fuse. Let me know how you make out.
