Van Steel, do you guys assemble the outer bearing/outer seal in the bearing support, insert the spindle through the spindle support, place the spacer and endplay shim on the spindle, install the inner bearing/inner seal, then press on the inner bearing until the outer bearing and inner bearing are pressed on?

Thanks for all the help.

No. Build the support 1st. Figure out what shim you need using that tool. Once that is determined, pack your bearings and install everything into the support. Outer seal and bearing, spacer, shim inner bearing and inner seal. After your support is built, press the spindle in. Leave the spindle bare. That is the last thing to go into the whole assembly. The spacer and shim will stay in the support. The grease won't let it go anywhere.

Once you insert the spindle into the assembly, before it's pressed in, the splines of the spindle will show. Take the whole bearing assembly and set it in your press. Now take the spindle flange and slide it over the splines. Take your short hollow pipe and put it inbetween the spindle flange and press so when you start to jack it down the spindle pushes through the spindle flange and through the pipe not damaging the threads. While you are bringing the press down, rock the bearing assembly back and forth, (left to right.)
