Default intake question

I am looking at this intake: EDL-7104
Will it work for my 81 vette? I mean as far as hooking up the required vac lines etc.
Also, will this work for a stock hood? Thanks!

This is the Performer RPM Q-Jet. I have one on my '75 and it works great. Just had to swap the stock vacuum fitting to the new intake. That's the good news.

Now for the bad. This manifold is about 3/4" taller than stock. I replaced my aircleaner with a Moroso racing drop base and can still fit a 3" filter but I have a taller hood on the '75. You may need a shorter filter even with the drop base. You don't want too short a filter or you will choke the carb.

Here is my aircleaner:

That would be a shame. I really like the stock air filter setup and i have my cold air vents and everything.

You are raising the carb 3/4" of an inch. The two easy choices are a lower air cleaner or a lower manifold. Or spend the $$$ for a new hood.

I ended up getting the edelbrock 2101 model. I think I need a adapter plate for the q-jet to fit? Also, this is a lower intake so it should fit under my hood yes? thanks!

The 2101 is the right manifold..the engine your describing doesnt warrant a high rise manifold..Big can of worms youd be opening if you tried the 7104.

2101 is a spreadbore. I had one before I switched to the 7104.
