Default Easy Timing Questions needing help

Its been a while so here goes:

1. If a corvette has its smog pump/emissions equipment removed do you still follow the spec on the firewall tune up label? My car is 8 degrees BTDC I believe (73 L82).

2. The timing light is supposed to connect to the battery terminals which are located behind the drivers seat. Where do you connect them under the hood on a Vette.

3. Is it necessary to remove and block the vacuum advance hose and also remove the gas cap?

Any other tips?

I thank you kindly and will let you know how it goes

Connect the red to the battery connection on the back of the altenater and the black to a ground somewhere in the engine compartment, Maybe a bracket.

1. No, those specs are for emisions. There is a sticky at the top of the forum by Barryk, follow that for timing setup
2. Alternator terminal and groung. Be very carefull not to short the power terminal to ground, bad things happen
3. To setup timing disconnect the hose from the vac advance and cap it. I never heard of anything to do with the gas cap for timing

Okay that looks like the holy grail I was looking for and I didn't know it was there. Hopefully I can repay the favor one day. Thanks.
