big blocks pistons are all RIGHTS. With the rod/piston in your hand and the
grooves for the rod bearings facing the outside of the block the piston will have the exhaust notch on the left the intake notch to the right. as long as you mount the pistons on all eight rods with the intake valve notch to the right, your good to go. then put all eight in with the bearing holding grooves facing the out side of the block, when you look at every hole of your big block the intake valve notch of the piston will be to the right.
