I am running a 396 small block, aluminum heads, solid roller quad dellorto set up.
I have been reading how the fuel line size needs to go up from 3/8" to feed over 425 - 450 hp.
But I have questions...as the barb on the fuel tank is for 3/8" so the fuel outlet from the tank would be the same. I could increase the line from the fuel pump (Holley blue) to the fuel regulator (full length of the car) to -8AN.
Then it would hit my fuel pressure regulator (which is set at 2.75/3psi as thats all the carbs need) and the only fittings available for the carbs are -6AN.
So would the increase to -8AN for that length reep benefits or will the psi limitations of the fuel pressure regulator/carb feed lines begate that? or is it a matter of volume and it would help?
cheers,
Nick

The stock fuel line and a stock fuel pump feed a 600 HP (with headers) L88. I plan on a 3/8 fuel line, a 130 GPH mechanical pump and a regulator to feed 500 plus HP + a 150 Nitrous shot. Look at the size of the needle and seat and the jets. 3/8 should feed about anything you throw at it with a higher volume pump.
