Absolutely WIERD! Spal Fan Behavior
I'd go with that too. For those suggesting the "controller", he has indicated that the sytem used (3) three relays. One relay for each fan, and the third for the AC override.
The new temp switch is only about $25, but if you want to do a test, try this:
Add a wire onto the temp switch and run it into the car to a simple radio shack toggle switch. Out of the switch to a good ground. When the problem happens, flip the switch. If the problem goes away, the only thing you eliminted was the temp switch and that would mean it's acting up. I have seen the post on these switchs loosen up.
so you have two differant relays, one for each fan, independantly controlled, NEITHER ONE of which is activated...or I would assume ONE of the fans is turned on.....thing I can't get straight is it does work with the a/c over ride.....THAT relay has to be DPDT or at least DPST Normally open each set of open contacts effective jumpers the sensors out to close each of the other two relays....either THAT or you have to have a two diodes in there to keep from back feeding the voltages....
how is that a/c override relay hooked up?? does it controll the COILS of the other two relays?? or just another set of contacts in parallel with the other temp controlled relays.....
IF it's the latter, you have a bad + wire to the hot side of your dual temp controlled relays....
