Default dash, gauge and console light out

72 model. went for a drive the other night and when i cranked her up no lights on the inside. the red headlamp light in the gauge cluster came on as well as my turn signal and bright light indicaters. stopped to get gas and they all came back on again. tried again last night and they were all off. is there a common point in the wiring harness to check? thanks...don

This happened to me in the past. Turned out that it was a faulty dimmer switch.

I actually took it apart. It was to worn to repair. I got a new one from a zip catalog. I think it was 40 bucks. I would just check the conectors on the inside of the switch and clean them off if you don't want to buy a new one. After awhile gunk builds up and stops proper flow of electricity.
